BROCKTON, Mass .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) –GEICO
and Good Sports have joined forces to support the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton by donating uniforms, basketballs, soccer balls, flag football equipment and other sports equipment to the ‘organization. Representatives of the three organizations and nearly 200 students were on site last Wednesday, April 3, to celebrate the partnership and test the new equipment.
âThis donation will encourage our members to play sport the right way,â said Josh Welper, program director at the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton. âThese kids come from backgrounds that don’t have the resources to provide top-of-the-line equipment, and many of them will now be able to use brand-new equipment for the first time. This equipment will increase their appreciation and enthusiasm for the sport – and also increase their sense of responsibility and self-esteem. We look forward to using this donation as a mechanism to expand our sports program and impact even more young people in our community.
The donation was part of an ongoing community partnership between GEICO and Good Sports that will help bring new equipment and resources to youth sports organizations in Massachusetts throughout 2013.
