Holiday sports equipment campaign will be hosted by two outstanding collegiate athletes from Temecula

A holiday sports equipment drive is being hosted by two Temecula residents, who also happen to be Division 1’s top collegiate athletes, home for the holidays. Kelsie Whitmore (United States women’s baseball team; Cal State Fullerton Softball), 2016 graduate of TVHS, and Gavin Johns (Tennessee Tech University Baseball; NJCAA national champion), 2015 graduate of Chaparral High School, s combine to organize a vacation sport workout equipment.

Johns and Whitmore are no strangers to putting service above themselves and have done so locally since their beginnings in youth sports. From their travel teams and the work they did in Temecula Youth Baseball League as teenagers, and countless other community giving programs they have been affiliated with, Johns and Whitmore also come from families. who have a big heart, especially when it comes to young people. who practice all types of sports in the region.

“We really wanted to give back and help some families who might be in need in our area. We know there are many who could use a blessing, especially during these times, ”Johns said.

The collection of holiday sports equipment will take place on Saturday, December 12 in front of the D-BAT training center in Temecula, from 9 a.m. to noon. Softball and baseball equipment is requested, and donors are asked to stay in their cars and wear a mask when dropping off items.
